4 Eastwood Rd,
Castle Opticians Rayleigh
Our practices are open, however as healthcare settings masks are required to be worn (unless exempt). If you wish to come into the practice please call in advance to arrange an appointment.
Individual practice opening hours may change in response to the current Covid situation.
The practice is the longest established in Rayleigh having served Rayleigh patients for over 50 years, and went through a comprehensive refurbishment 3 years ago. Our bright newly equipped practice continues to offer a full private and NHS service, regular contact lens clinics and one of the widest ranges of spectacle frames available in Essex.
Andrew Ellacott and Tim Turpin are our resident Optometrists and the practice is managed by Dispensing Optician Stephen Castle who has over 25 years experience in Optics. Our senior receptionist Karen Viner will be happy to arrange an appointment at a time that is convenient for you.
The practice has a digital fundus camera and a state of the art Thompson Test Chart. We also offer Optical coherence tomography (OCT) as an extra part of the eye examination. This advanced light based instrument enables us to examine a cross section of the retina at the back of the eye which can help us to detect glaucoma and retinal diseases, such as age-related macular degeneration and diabetic eye disease.
Our Rayleigh practice is the main stockist of Oakley, Tom Ford and Rayban eyewear in the town and we also carry the stunning Tiffany, Bulgari, Gucci, Murano and Michael Kors ranges for ladies.
